New Pathways is a resource for families with children experiencing homelessness in Central Minnesota
New Pathways serves homeless adults with children by providing sleeping accommodations, three meals a day, case management, skills training and a safe environment.
New Pathways, Inc. exists to ensure that the homeless population, specifically families with children, have resources, skills, and assistance necessary to thrive.
Day Centers (Brainerd, Cambridge)
During the day the families go to work, school, or to one of our family day centers where the families work on their plan to get back into a home of their own. New Pathways provides all the basic needs for each family, such as:
- Computers with internet access
- Laundry facilities
- Personal care items
- Shower room
The New Pathways Ministry at The Log Church is led by Liz and Carl Johnson.
Area churches provide sleeping accommodations, meals, transportation to the day center and church. The Log Church hosts families for one week, four times each year.
We also provide lunches and fun activities for the families during their week stay at our church.
Our mission and ministry is to follow God's command that we are to feed and love His lost sheep. God tells us in Matthew 25:40 - God said, " I tell you the truth, whatever you do for one of the least of these brothers, sisters or children of mine, you did for me.
Our ministry is to share the Good News of the Gospel and to be the hands, feet and heart of Jesus so they can see and feel the love of Jesus for them. To be His Light in a time of darkness. To have a heart of compassion and encouragement for His families who need lifting up and prayers while they are trying to get back on their feet again.
Our goal is that while these families are with us that they would find the new pathway to their Eternal home. By us sharing the Good News of the Gospel and our testimonies with them. As we give all the praise and honor to Him that uses us to help the lost find salvation.
Our prayers would be for all the volunteers who financially support and give of their time would be blessed abundantly. For the families and their children would encounter a life changing experience that would change their life and bring them into a relationship with God.
